New goal for ETA NEXT Team!


















ETA Next is a laboratory that can Imagine, Design and Build, with the goal of offering new standard products and solutions as well as projects dedicated to our business partners. A veritable research centre for the R&D Function of ETA, where a client’s every need can be studied, the parts of a project can be tested thanks to the production systems entirely dedicated to prototypes and testing, and the most efficient and effective alternative can be selected. In brief, a laboratory of ideas and solutions. Within ETA Next there is also an entire department dedicated to Quality and Safety, to be on the avant-garde then it comes to certifications and the sector’s regulations and standards, and to respond to the precise and unique market requests, thanks to a dedicated laboratory complete with all necessary tools and equipment.

In recent days, inside the ETA NEXT Laboratory, thanks to our qualified Team and the collaboration of Inspectors of the selected certification body, UL water tests were successfully completed for:

– New E COR range (available in the coming months): Type 4 single door

– Side cable entry module E NUX: Type 12

– Maximum size of E NUX cabinets increased to L1600 H 2200 D1200: Type 12

– Cabinets E NUX joined back to back: Type 12

Here below the references to the method used, complying with UL50:

_ Method for Hosedown test Type 4:

A sample of the test enclosure and its external mechanisms was subjected to a stream of water from a hose having a 25mm (1 inch) inside diameter nozzle delivering at least 240L (65 gallons) per minute. The water stream was directed at all joints of the enclosure from a distance of 3.0 to 3.5m (10 to 12 feet) and was moved along each joint one time at a uniform nominatl rate of 6mm/s (1/4inch/s).

_ Method for Atomized water test type12:

Atomized-water method (Method A)

The enclosure shall be subjected to a spray of atomized water using a nozzle that produces a round pattern 75 – 100 mm in diameter when measured 300 mm from the nozzle (3 – 4 inches in diameter when measured 12 inches from the nozzle). The air pressure shall be 200 kPa (30 psi/2 bar). Not less than 4.8 mL/linear cm (5 ounce per linear foot) shall be applied at a rate of 11.4 L/h (3 gallons per hour). The nozzle shall be held 300 – 380 mm (12 – 15 inches) from the enclosure and the spray of water shall be directed once at all points of potential dust entry such as seams, joints, and external operating mechanisms. A conduit may be installed to equalize the internal and external pressures, but shall not serve as a drain. The test specimen shall have at least one seam representative of each of the types of seams of the enclosure(s). A seam is the junction of, or the joint between, two pieces. When two covers or doors are adjacent, their common edges shall be considered a single seam.
